Choosing a name for your new puppy or dog

HISTORIC REVIEW

Humans have named their dogs with unique and cute names since dogs have been domesticated.
We  know many dog names from Egyptian sources from thousands of years ago, like “The Brave One”, “Reliable” and others, describing the nature of a dog. Other names referred to the dog´s color, like “The Black One”.

THE RIGHT DOG NAME

WHAT TO CONSIDER
Searching for names for dogs is one of the first things new puppy owners will be doing.
If you are in the process of searching for cute dog names, several considerations should be made.
At first the dogs name should not sound similar to any command you will use.
A bad idea for instance would be to call your puppy “Sketch” and also use the command “fetch”.
The name should not be too long, just think of how often you will use it in the future!
There are many lists of popular and cute dog names, also on this site – maybe one will fit your taste and you will find a perfect name.
Maybe you look for a very special and unique dog name – just browse one of the lists on this site – everything will be fine as long as it meets the “minimum requirements” mentioned above.

If you have enough time and are enthusiastic about finding the perfect name, considering origin, meaning, popularity etc., and you are willing to spend some money, you might buy or order {WEBPAGE FOR PET BOOK RESOURCES}

In our personal opinion this is not really worth the money, as there is a tremendous amount of dog name information available online and free on the internet.
Probably you also came to this dog name site through one of the search engines hunting for names.

If you need a break from “dog names” maybe you would like to find some information on dog training videos or pet ID tags, or maybe to see what books are available for your specific dog breed.
